Obituary for Mary F. "Frankie" Swan
Mary F. "Frankie" Swan, 81, of Vincennes passed away Friday March 26, 2021 at BridgePointe Nursing Center. Frankie, as she liked to be called, was born February 9, 1940 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of Walter and Clara Johnson Combs. She was a graduate of Lincoln High Schools and was an avid Homecoming adventurer. She was a homemaker raising 4 son’s and after they were raised she worked several different jobs. She was a member of St. John/ St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and she enjoyed playing Bunko with all of her friends and family.
Frankie is survived by her son’s, Kevin Swan, and his wife Marianne of Vincennes, IN, Rick Swan, and his wife Sue of Milwaukie, WS, Jeff Swan of Vincennes, IN and Tim Swan, and his wife Laura of Vincennes, IN. Her grandchildren, Jason Swan, Kristin Karaff, Morgan Swan, Tanner Swan, Hannah Swan, Joshua Swan and Melissa Potts. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and a brother, Thomas Combs of Vincennes, IN.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Swan, 4 brothers, Ray Combs, Chuck Combs, Don Combs and Bob Combs. Her sisters, Maxine Schnaber, Ethel Small and Edith Wissel.
Funeral services will be celebrated Tuesday March 30, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to the time of service at 12:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Assn or the DAV in her memory. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Frankie’s family during their time of loss.
