Mary Ann (Ueding) Ruppel, 85, Vincennes, passed away, with her children by her side, on Monday, November 21 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mary was born December 26, 1936 to John and Dorothy Ueding in Vincennes. She was a graduate of St. Rose Academy and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church / St. Francis Xavier Parish. Mary married Raymond Ruppel on Nov. 23, 1957 and they made their life together for nearly 56 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and proud of them all.
Mary enjoyed doing ceramics and taught classes for many years. She loved to read, playing cards/scrabble and spending time with her family. Mary loved the outdoors and enjoyed watching the birds. Mary prayed the rosary daily.
Mary is survived by her nine children, Joe Ruppel (Tammy) Vincennes, Susan Sanders (Ace) Vincennes, Carolyn Wolfe (Brad) Sumner IL, Lisa Stanley (Mark) Mooresville, Ann Griggs (Scott) Winston OR, Bob Ruppel (Laura) Vincennes, Ray Alan Ruppel (Maria) Vincennes, Travis Ruppel (Kathy) Vincennes, Terry Ruppel (Becky) Lawrenceville IL.
Twenty grandchildren: Ashely Ruppel, Tyler Ruppel (Danielle), Nikki Rogers (Derek), Jonathan Sanders (Misty), Allyson Fiscus, Edge Gher, Kelsey Whittaker (Kale), McKenzie Wolfe, Melissa Stanley (Thomas Kirkman), Chris Stanley (Angelina), Michael Stanley (Gabriela), Vanessa Ekelund (Becca), Jeremy Griggs, Elizabeth Graves (Chris), Patrick Ruppel, Nolan Ruppel, Nathan Ruppel, Daci Ruppel, Beth Ruppel and Sarah Ruppel
Twelve great grandchildren: Paisley Ruppel, Ainsley Rogers, Ryhan Fiscus, Jake Fiscus, Hallie Gher, Bradlee Jo Whittaker, Jackson Ales, Landen Stanley, Georgia Stanley, Nova Stanley, Spencer Ekelund, Sawyer Ekelund, #13 due in Feb, #14 due in May.
Siblings: Dorthy Clauss, Karen Cooper, David Ueding, Connie Grable and Kathy Frey.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in April 2013, parents John and Dorothy Ueding, Brother John Ueding and Sister Darlene Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday November 28, 2022 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday November 27, 2022 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home where a recitation of the rosary will be held at 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Good Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Mary Ann’s family during their time of loss.
