Obituary for Mary Ellen Marchino Helderman
Mary Ellen “Marchino” Helderman, 85, of Vincennes, IN, passed away November 1, 2019 at BridgePointe Health. Mary Ellen was born February 20, 1934 in Knox County the daughter of Leonard Sr. and Catherine Steimel Marchino. She was a graduate of Decker High School and Vincennes University with a Business Degree. Mary Ellen married Paul Edward Helderman on September 1, 1951 and they made their life together for over 67 years until Paul’s death on March 23, 2018. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Ladies Lutheran Aid Society and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She formerly worked as a secretary at Wabash Valley Eye for several years.
Mary Ellen is survived by her son’s, Paul Edward Helderman Jr. and his wife Michelle of Lititz, PA and Daniel Dale Helderman, and his wife Cheryl of Pearland, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Blake Daniel Helderman, Tia Ellen Helderman, Nicholas Edward Helderman and Marissa Kate Helderman. Her brothers, Frank Marchino, and his wife Beverly of Danville, IN, Dale Marchino, and his wife Vickie of Washington, IN. and a sister, Mildred Goldman of Vincennes. IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Edward Helderman, her parents Leonard and Catherine Marchino, her brothers, Louis Marchino, Tom Marchino, a brother in infancy Danny Marchino and a sister, Rita Booth.
The family will receive friends Saturday November 9, 2019 at St. Peter Lutheran Church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with services to begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Nathan Rastl officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Peter Lutheran Church.
