Obituary for Mary F. McGiffen Arnold
Mary F. McGiffen Arnold, 91, former realtor of Vincennes, passed away Monday January 21, 2019 at 11:16 AM with her family at her bedside. Mary was born September 2, 1927 in Mexico, MO the daughter of Roy J. and Mary Gladys Johnson Stone. She was a licensed realtor having retired from Knox County Realty. Mary held membership in Beta Sigma Phi and the Knox County Realtors Assn. She married Leonard Arnold and he preceded her in death February 28 2003. Mary loved Christmas, Clark Gable, being a realtor and antiques. She always had a funny story to share and was a people person never knowing a stranger.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Connie Zigler Byrnes, of Vincennes, IN, Lynda A. Zigler and her companion, Pam Garrison of Vincennes, IN Donna Zigler Ritchey, and her husband Stephen of Vincennes, IN. A sister, Vera Rose of Terre Haute, IN., step children Lisa Arnold Schulte and Steve Arnold and many relatives who loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by a son in law, Bob Byrnes, her parents, a brother, James Stone and two sisters, Loretta Donovan and Gertrude Yates.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Bill Webb officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services. Memorial contributions can be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Mary’s family during their time of loss.
