Obituary for Mildred A. Steimel
Mildred A. (Earley) Steimel, 99, passed away Thursday August 25, 2022 at the Villages of Oak Ridge in Washington, IN. Mildred was born October 11, 1922 the daughter of Virgil and Sadie Doane Earley. She was a graduate of Wheatland High School and she married Lawrence Steimel on November 20, 1941 and they made their life together for nearly 71 years until his death on April 1, 2012. Mildred worked at Reynolds Spring (Stubnitz), Hamilton Glass and was a member of the Old Cathedral/St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a devoted Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed anything to do with her family, friends and loved her chocolate.

Mildred is survived by her family, Larry Steimel, and his wife Donna of Plainfield, IN, Jean Carrie, and her husband Harvey of Wheatland, IN, and Kim Steimel of Wheatland, IN. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Dewayne Earley and his wife Sharon of Washington, IN, Dwight Earley his wife Marilyn of Raglesville, IN, and Linda Thompson, and her husband Leon of Nashville, IN.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Steimel, her parents, 6 brothers, Robert Earley, Don Earley, Paul Earley, Gordon Earley, John Earley, Gilbert Earley and 3 sisters, Helen Summers, Norma Bonhomme and Pauline Boyles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday August 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Old Cathedral Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will laid to rest next to her husband in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday August 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Francis Xavier/Old Cathedral Catholic Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Mildred’s family during their time of loss.
