Obituary for Norma J. Thompson Norma J. Thompson, 83, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away at her residence Friday July 20, 2012 at 5:30 AM CST with her family at her bedside. She was born August 22, 1928 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of Glenn �Ted� & Flora Smith Pfoff. She married Harold S. �Candy� Thompson on July 28, 1945 and they made their lives together for 64 years until his death on January 24, 2010. She was a homemaker until her children were raised when she entered the workplace. She joined the Peoples National Bank as a bookkeeper and retired after 20 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, gospel music, camping and boating with her family. She and her family enjoyed many western vacations together. She is survived by her children, Steve Thompson, and his wife Patty of Naples, FL, Carol Pargin, and Jim Weiler of Lawrenceville, IL, Cathy Flint, and her husband Paul of Washington, IN and Laura Coldren of Vincennes, In. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Clint Thompson, Candy King, Kenya Leonard, Casey Sands, Patrick Pargin, Kara Prillwitz, Jessica Sievers, Matthew Paddick, Andrew Frey and Bobbi Lee Coldren. 21 Great Grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Kurtis Thompson & Douglas Pargin, a great grandson, Dalton Terrell, her parents, two brothers, Jim Pfoff and Jerry Pfoff and a sister, Marcella (Sally) Roach. Funeral services will be celebrated on at 1:00 PM EDT Monday July 23, 2012 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Rev. Garth Whewell officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM EDT until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to her family to aid in the expenses of her last illness.
