Obituary for Patsy L. (Smith) Russell
Patsy Lynn (Smith) Russell, 66, of Decker, IN passed away at her home with her family at her bedside. Patsy was born June 20, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of Andrew and Patricia Peach Smith. She was a graduate of South Knox High School and worked in the food service industry at various restaurants in the area. She married Larry Russell on November 8, 1986 and they made their life together for 39 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed poking the bear at any family gathering.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Larry Russell, their daughters, Crystal (Ron) Miller of Aliquippa, PA and Jessica (Justin) Hasting of Vincennes, IN. She was blessed by her grandchildren, Lexy Leal, Logan Russell, Marissa Miller, Lauren Miller, Emma Miller and Ella Hasting, her great granddaughter, Addy Barbosa and was anticipating the birth of 2 more great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Nita (David) Tewell of Vincennes, Pam (Terry Evans) Westfall of Decker, IN, Lucy Reed of Oaktown, IN, Ronnie (Gina) Smith of Ft. Branch, IN, Jimmy Smith of Oakland City, IN and Tim Smith of Decker, IN.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Russell, her parents, 2 brothers, Butch Smith and Chuck Smith.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM with a service to be held at 4:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until the time of services. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Good Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Russell family during their time of loss.
