Obituary for Pauline A. Carie
Pauline A. Carie, 93, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Thursday December 26, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with all of her family at her bedside. Pauline was born January 17, 1926 in Knox County the daughter of George and Sophie M. Hess Vieck. She was a graduate of St. Rose Academy and she married Francis “Bud” Carie and they made their life together until his death on September 8, 1996. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Wabash Homemakers and the Widows card club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a true friend to anyone who had the pleasure of getting to know her.
Pauline was blessed with 10 children, Mary Kay Brothers, who preceded her in death, Joe Carie, and his wife Kaye of Decker, IN, Francis W. “Butch” Carie, and his wife Debra of Vincennes, Kenneth Carie, and his wife Debbie of Vincennes, Annette Wallace, and her husband John of Vincennes, Ronald Carie of Vincennes, Paula Heinz, and her husband Mark of Vincennes, Jacquelyn Sievers, and her husband Raymond of Vincennes, Sara Pepmeier, and her husband John of Bruceville, IN and Jan Mauriello, and her husband Mike of Terre Haute, IN. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a son in law, Kenny Brothers of Vincennes, IN. a sister, Margaret Primus of Martinsburg, MO. She is also survived by her extended family, Ernie and Donna Stoops and children of Vincennes, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Carie, a daughter Mary Kay Brothers, a great granddaughter, Moyra McCain, 2 brothers, Louis Vieck and Francis Vieck and a sister, Bernadine Richardville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday December 30, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst, Fr. Simon Natha, Deacon Earl Ruppel and Deacon Cletus Yochum officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 29, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Thomas Cemetery Fund. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Pauline’s family during their time of loss.
