Obituary for Pauline J. Sampson Pauline J. Sampson, 90, of Monroe City, IN, passed away Saturday February 2, 2013 at 8:00 PM at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born January 28, 1923 in St. Francisville, IL the daughter of August & Bessie Shaw Stangle. She was worked for 28 years at Healy�s Market and formerly worked at a defense plant making airplanes during WW II. She married Clayton Sampson and they made their life together for 58 years until his death in 2003. She was a member of the Old Cathedral, Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Society. She formerly was a religious education teacher for the Old Cathedral and St. John Catholic Churches. She is survived by her children, William �Bill� Sampson, and his wife Karen and Mary Jo Sampson, both of Monroe City, IN. Her grandson�s, Michael Sampson and his wife, Melanie and Matthew Sampson. Her great grandchildren, Maddy, Evan, Harley, Michaela, Kaitlynn, Madison, Hunter, Kolten, Mason and Gabby. A brother, Lawrence Stangle of St. Francisville, IL also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday February 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Old Cathedral with Fr. John Schipp and Fr. David Fleck officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday February 5, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home where the recitation of the rosary will be held at 7:30 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Old Cathedral Window Restoration Fund through the funeral home.
