Pearl K. Michels, 99, of Vincennes, IN, passed away November 20, 2020 at 5:30 AM at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. Pearl was born September 6, 1921 in Shoals, IN the daughter of Frederick (Fred) Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Schaller Simpson. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and she married Robert O. Michels on March 1, 1943 and they made their life together until his death in 2005. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Beverly Ann West of Washington, IN and Merry Kaye Bowman, and her husband Steve of Vincennes, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mike West, Mindy West, Jason Flynn, Lisa Bowman and Matt Bowman. 14 great grandchildren also survive.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. “Bob” Michels, her parents, Fred Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Simpson, her brothers, Frederick A. Simpson Jr, Harold W. Simpson and a half brother, Fred M. Stafford.
Private services will be conducted due to the Covid 19 pandemic. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Central Church of Christ or Good Samaritan Hospice in her memory. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Michels family during their time of loss.
