Obituary for Peggy J. Small Peggy J. Small, 57, of Freelandville, IN, passed away at her home Sunday May 22, 2016 at 6:33 AM with her family beside her. She was born November 13, 1958 in Sullivan, IN the daughter of Walter M. and Betty Bond Gates. She was a graduate of North Knox High School and a graduated from Vincennes Beauty College. She began her career as a beautician with J.C. Penny where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of Mariah Creek Christian Church and on Oct 6, 1990 she married Billy Small Jr. and they made their life together for over 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Billy Small Jr., children, Chris Small, and his wife Jennifer of Bicknell, IN, Abigail Cutsinger of Freelandville, IN and Samantha Cutsinger and her husband, Chris Dawdy of Freelandville, IN. and her mother, Betty Gates of Freelandville, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Baylee Small, Addyson Small, Allyson Freitas, Annabelle Freitas, Wesley LeRoy, Willa LeRoy, Seth Dawdy, Nathaniel Salazar, Isaiah Salazar, Lincoln Dawdy, Emily Dawdy, her sisters, Penny Helderman, and her husband Howard, of Freelandville, IN, Pamela Sturgeon of Vincennes, In and Angela Chestnut and her husband Don Henry of Terre Haute, IN. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother Russell Gates and a sister Anna Gates. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday May 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Matt Hoffman officiating. She will be laid to rest in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday May 27, 2016 from 5 to 8 PM and on Saturday prior to the services . Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Mariah Creek Christian Church.
