Obituary for Ray J. Ervin Ray J. Ervin, 94, formerly of Bicknell, IN passed away March 23, 2016 in Covington, GA. He was born November 23, 1921 in Bicknell, IN the son of Ray Ervin Sr. and Jauneeta Leighman Christy. He was a Bicknell High School Graduate and he worked for Con Rail Railroad for over 30 years. He married Martha Johnson on December 24, 1940 and they made their life together until her death on March 3, 2004. He is survived by his children, James Lee Ervin and his wife Sheila of Covington, GA, Phyllis J. Jones and her husband Richard, of Oxford, Ga and Jauneeta Hicky and her husband Alva, of Noblesville, IN. 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great -great grandchildren. A brother, Jack M. Ervin of Conyers, GA also survived He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha L. Ervin, a son Clyde Ray Ervin, a daughter, Rita Ann Dillon and his parents. Funeral services will be celebrated Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 12:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Richard Spaulding officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday March 29, 2016 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the donor�s charity of choice.
