Oaktown – Raymon E. (Bud) Osburn, 93, died at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020, at Oak Village Nursing Home in Oaktown, IN. Born July 7, 1927, in the Hebron, Indiana area, he was the son of Roy and Alice (Solomon) Osburn. He was a mechanic by trade in the Hebron area, but then later was a teacher of Diesel Mechanic for Climax Mine in Leadville, Colorado. He was in the United States Air Force for 4 years and stationed in Texas and the Aleutian Islands. Ray and his wife made their home in Hebron while raising their two boys, and then moved to Colorado which was a lifelong dream for them. In 2002 they returned to Indiana and made their home in Oaktown close to family. He became a member of Oaktown Christian Church upon returning to Indiana. Ray had 46 years with his wife, Patricia Ann (Saylor) Osburn, whom he married July 28, 1956, in Valparaiso, IN, and she died September 24,2003.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald Ray and Rita Osburn of Bicknell and David Wesley and Vonica Osburn of Edmond, Oklahoma. Granddaughters, Felicia Sue Osburn and Amber Osburn. Grandson, Craig and his wife Samantha, and great grandson, Kaidyn Osburn. Step-grandson and step-granddaughter, Brian DeVore, and Tiffany McGinnis. Ray is survived by a sister, Carol Osburn Pfeifer and her husband, Alvin of Wanatah, IN. Several nieces and nephews also survive
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Osburn, two grandsons, Wesley Osburn and Ryan Osburn a great-grandson Ryder, his parents, a infant brother, Harold. his adult brothers and their wives: Jack and Margaret (Miller) Osburn, Charles and Marjorie (Childress) Osburn, John and Gladys (Woodkee) Osburn, and Olan (Squeak) and Anita (Hayden) Osburn, and a sister, Helen Curry and her husband, Don.
A private graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery in Westphalia, IN. Richard Stewart, will officiate the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Oak Village Nursing Home Activity Fund, 200 4th Street, Oaktown, IN in his memory. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the Osburn family during their time of loss.
