Ricky L. Brochin, 68, of Bruceville, IN, passed away at his home January 14, 2023 with his family at his bedside. Ricky was born June 2, 1954 in Vincennes the son of Donald and Barbara Tooley Brochin. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and served his country in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division. He began his career working for Mineo Electric and continued having worked for Evans and retired from Niehaus Electric. He was a Christian showing his faith in his daily interactions with everyone. He formerly was a member of the American Legion, an avid NASCAR fan, hunting, deer especially, and he enjoyed any activity with his family and friends. He married Penny Helderman on April 19, 1980 and they made their life together for nearly 43 years.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Penny Brochin, their children, Wendy (Brandon Wright) Brochin of Oaktown, IN, Ricky L. Brochin II of Vincennes, IN and Kari Brochin of Bruceville, IN. His grandchildren, Hayden (Collin) McClure, Reid McClure, Jade Brochin, Hailie Brochin, Colton Halter, Kaytlin Martinez Brochin, and Reese Brochin. He is also survived by his brothers, William “Bill” (Theresa) Brochin of Bicknell, IN, Mark (Nicole) Howard of Stevens Point, Wisc, Elisa (Richard) Boger-Brames of Vincennes, IN, Shelia Brochin of Antigo, Wisc, Vickie (Chris) Chambers of Baraboo, Wisc. and Launa (Wesley) Wnetkowski of Baraboo, Wisc. And we cannot forget his bestie baby, Bella, his white pit bull.
Ricky was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Faith Martinez, his parents, Donald Brochin and his wife Rosemary and Barbara Brochin Bouchie and husband Lawrence, a brother, Donnie Brochin, sisters, Stephanie Selby and Paula Mincey. He is also preceded by a brother in law, (Whom he thought of as his brother and Best Friend) Dave Boger.
Funeral services will be celebrated Friday January 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Charlie McCracken officiating. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday January 19, 2023 at the funeral home and prior to the service Friday.
