Obituary for Rita J. Monday Rita J. Monday, 60, of Vincennes, passed away Monday October 6, 2014 at 4:20 AM at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born April 16, 1954 in New Albany, IN the daughter of Arthur Sword and LaVerne Gallagher Walker. She was raised by her mother and step father Charles Walker. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the area and attended Thursday Church. She is survived by her children, Tonya Harsha, Vincennes, Christina Ewer, Vincennes and Lori Sword Lewis of Bicknell, IN. her grandchildren, Damein V. Daugherty, Michael Daugherty, Kaleb Sheren, Brayton Cliver, Tyler Auberry, Christian Catiller, Jayda Gilmore and Cloe Lewis and 2 great grandchildren. Her brother, James Wadsworth and a sister Jerrie Fleck of Evansville also survive her. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rita Lynn Daugherty and her parents. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday October 11, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Alice Bline officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family in her memory to assist with the expenses of her last illness.
