Obituary for Robert G. "Bob" Grubb
Former Vincennes Firefighter, Robert G. "Bob" Grubb, 72, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at his home in Tarpon Springs, Florida unexpectedly. Bob was born June 2, 1949 in Los Angles, CA the son of Herbert and Gretchen Beasley Grubb. Bob served his community as a Vincennes Firefighter for over 35 years having served as an Assistant Chief, Battalion Chief and Captain having worked up through the ranks. He married Deborah K. Lane on November 11, 1972 and they would have celebrated 50 years together. He was a member of Franklin Heights Christian Church, Moose, Sons of the American Legion and the Firefighters Union.
Bob is survived by his wife, Deborah Grubb, children, Dale Cardinal, and his wife Michele of Newburgh, IN, Christina Burns, and her husband Jeff of Petersburg, IN and Robin Vieke, and her husband Brad of Vincennes, IN. He was proud to be grandpa to, Brandon Gardner, Jordan Cornelius, Ashley Cardinal, Ty Burns, Eve Burns and Dawlson Vieke. and his great grandchildren, Bellah Cornelius and Tate Cornelius.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Gretchen Grubb and a brother, Tom Smith.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday May 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Chaplin Larry Howerton and Sonny Pinkstaff officiating. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery with Firefighter Honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 3, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Shop with a Firefighter or a local food pantry. Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist Bob’s family during their time of loss.
