Obituary for Robert J. "Bob" Cardinal
Robert J. �Bob� Cardinal, 85, of Bruceville, In, passed away Friday April 4, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. He was born June 1, 1928 In Vincennes, In the son of Joseph H. & Helen Zebart Cardinal. He was a retired farmer and school bus driver and he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Ina Mowery on Jan 16, 1951 and they made their life together for 63 years. He was a member of the St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, Bruceville Rod & Gun and he enjoyed his social activities at Barney�s Mart. He was a member of the Brute Society having been inducted in 2013. He is survived by his wife, Ina Mowery Cardinal, their children, Pamela Jane Jones of Monroe City, IN, Paula Jean Adams, and her husband, John W. of Vincennes and Gayle Ann Crockett, and her husband, James Kurt of Bruceville, IN. Their grandchildren, Garry R. Jones, Marc Jones, Jill Rauh, Sarah McGregor, Bobbie Garner, Jake Crockett and James Cody Crockett. Their great grandchildren, Colton McGregor, Jarrod Devine, Grace Ann Jones, Keaton Jones, Riley Hudson, Connor Hudson, Josie Rauh, Isaac Jackson, Lane Garner and Dravin Garner. He is also survived by his brothers, Maurice Gerald �Jerry� Cardinal and his wife, Cora and Steve Cardinal and his wife, Debbie both of Bruceville, IN, his sisters, Patricia Gwaultney of Petersburg, IN and Helen Mowery of Bruceville, IN. He is also survived by a special friend to his family, Rosemary McGuire and her family He was preceded in death by a great grandson Memphis L. Riker and his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated Monday April 7, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church with Fr. David Martin and Fr. Ron Kreilein officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Stafford Cemetery between Sandborn and Linton, IN. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Sunday April 6, 2014 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel, Bicknell, IN. Memorial contributions can be in his memory to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, GSH Hospice program or the Stafford Cemetery for the perpetual care fund.
