Obituary for Robert J. �Bob� Frisz Robert J. �Bob� Frisz, 88, of Vincennes passed away April 16, 2012 at 3:25 AM. He was born October 6, 1923 in Vincennes the son of Valentine & Marie Wassman Frisz. He was a 1941 graduate of Lincoln High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country during WW II. He bravely fought in the battle of Iwo Jima and later participated in the occupation of Japan. He also served his country in China and was called back to duty during the Korean War. He enjoyed attending the reunions of his fellow Marines who served during the battle of Iwo Jima. After the war, he returned home to continue to work at the family business. On November 22, 1951, he married Nancy Ann Cook and they made their life together for over 60 years. He retired from Niehaus Lumber Co. He was a member of the Old Cathedral Catholic Church where he served as choir director, a member of the parish council and received the Simon Brute Award. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the �Do Nothing� Club. He was devoted to his family as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He painted many watercolor pictures for his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Nancy A. Frisz, their children, Robert �Joe� Frisz of Fremont CA, Kathryn Flickner, and her husband Doug of Vincennes, Richard Frisz, and his wife Anne of Littleton, CO and Elizabeth Theobald, and her husband Ted of Wildwood, MO. Their grandchildren, Eric Flickner, Amy Flickner, Christopher Frisz, Monique Frisz, Rachael Frisz, Samuel Frisz, Edward Theobald, Nina Theobald and Jackson Theobald. Their great grandchildren, Natalie and Jovanny Saveras. He is also survived by his brother, John Frisz of Vincennes, his sisters, Helen Houck of Brazil, IN, Rita Harrod of O�Fallon, IL and Margaret Kaiser of Vincennes. His parents and 2 brothers, Valentine Frisz Jr and George Frisz in infancy, preceded him in death. A celebration of his life will be conducted Thursday April 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Old Cathedral with Fr John Schipp officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
