Obituary for Robert J. Yochum
Robert J. Yochum, 82, of Vincennes, passed away Tuesday February 14, 2017 at 2:30 pm at his residence. He was born March26, 1934 in Knox County Indiana the son of Alois A and Bertha Speth Yochum. He was married on July 2, 1960 to Elizabeth “Betty” Schaefer Yochum and made their lives together for nearly 49 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul and a 4th degree member Knights of Columbus. He worked at the Knox County Farm Bureau COOP for over 21 years.
He is survived by his children, Daniel “Dan” Yochum of Vincennes, IN and Patty Klos, and her husband, Patrick of Terre Haute, IN. He was blessed by a grandson, Nicholas Klos. His brothers Lawrence Yochum, and his wife Barb of Henryville, IN, John Yochum, and his wife Carol of Vincennes, IN, Ray Yochum and his wife Shirley of Vincennes, his sister, Veronica West and her husband Lawrence of Vincennes, IN. He is also survived by his sisters in law, Rita Yochum and Mary Jeanette Yochum. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Yochum, two son’s Mark and Christopher Yochum, his parents, 4 brothers, Alois H Yochum, Paul Yochum, James Yochum, Geroge Yochum and a sister Helen Ann Bouvy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at the St. John Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck will be celebrant. He will be laid to rest next to his wife and son’s in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday February 21, 2017, at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions in his memory can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
