Obituary for Robert L. "Bob" Duncan
Robert L. "Bob" Duncan, 78 of Edwardsport, IN passed away at the Freelandville Community Home on Wednesday November 24, 2021. Bob was born October 23, 1943 in Sullivan, IN the son of Oscar Duncan Jr and Helen M. Wehmier Fairhurst. He was a pastor, evangelist and carpenter. He graduated from North Knox High School, an AS degree from Vincennes University and received a bachelors degree at Oakland City College. He was a pastor and was a member of the Newberry Christian Church in Newberry, IN, served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. He held membership in the Masonic lodge #429, where he was a Past Master. He married Beverly Kay Frederman on August 18, 1974 and they made their life together for 47 years.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kay Duncan, sons’, Keith Duncan, and his wife Andrea of Oaktown, IN, ( Jesse, Bryan, Joshua, Christian and Katie) Stacey Duncan of Bicknell, IN(Cortney and Vincent) and Chris Duncan, and his wife Julie ( Allyssa, Chase, Jordon and Storm) Three great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy in infancy, his parents and a sister, Betty Miller.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Jon McKinnon officiating. He will be laid to rest in Edwardsport Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services. A Masonic service will be held at 12:30 PM and military honors will be presented by the All Weather Firing Squad. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in his memory.
