Obituary for Robert L. Marchino
Robert L. Marchino, 93, of Vincennes passed away Thursday November 5, 2020 at 3:10 am at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Bob was born June 1, 1927, in Knox County the son of Esco and Helen Ruble Marchino. He was a graduate of Fritchton High School and served the country in the Coast Guard/Merchant Marine during WW II in the North Atlantic Campaign. He married Clara Keller on April 17, 1951 and they made their life together for 65 years until her death. Bob formerly owned and operated Marchino Sales for over 35 years.
He is survived by his children, Ruth Ann McColley, and her husband Stephen of Fairfield Glade, TN, R. Dale Marchino, and his wife Diana of Vincennes, IN and Carole M. Smith, and her husband Michael of Bicknell, IN. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Pamela J. Arles, Gracie M. Iqbal, and her husband Naveed and Matthew McColley, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Marchino, a son, Patrick D. Marchino, his parents, Esco and Helen Marchino, his brothers, John Marchino and Raymond Marchino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Saturday November 7, 2020 at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Simon Natha officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Catholic Church or to the donor’s charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Marchino family during their time of loss.
