Obituary for Robert S. Pipher
Robert S. Pipher, 93, Vincennes, passed away Saturday Decembber 16, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Bob was born November 24, 1924 in Vincennes, son of Samuel and Marie Dahms Pipher. Bob was a 1942 graduate of Lincoln High School and in his later years attended Vincennes University monitoring various classes to continue his education. He worked for many years for Clean Towel/Aramark having served as manager. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, YMCA Senior Center and formerly the Eagles. Bob was an avid card player having mastered Gin Rummy and Euchre at the K of C. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and seeing his friends and family. He married Delores (Lynn) Willis in 1962 and they made their life together until her death in 2000.
He is survived by his family, Pamela S. Martin of Mesa, AZ, Patricia L Buntrock, and her husband Gary of Cheney, WA, Mary A Dominquez of Vincennes, Paul F. Willis, and his wife Vicki of New Ipswich, NH and Michael Pipher, and his wife Louella of Vincennes, IN. His grandchildren Shawn Talley, Matthew Bowman, Lisa Morales, Gualberto Dominquez, Robert Tooley and Joshua Tooley. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill Pipher, and his wife Ruby of Vincennes and Larry Pipher of Bloomington, IN.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Delores “Dee” Pipher, a granddaughter, Susan Gurnea, his parents, Samuel and Marie Pipher and three sisters and 2 brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday December 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St John Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 AM until 12:50 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home where the procession will begin to St. John Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, Vincennes, IN in his memory.
Duesterberg-Fredrick was honored to assist the family during their time of loss.
