Obituary for Ronald D. "Ron" Turney
Ronald D. "Ron" Turney, 77, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Friday July 8, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Ron was born July 31, 1944 in Vincennes the son of Samuel D. Turney and Delores I. Snider Foster. He was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966 during the Vietnam War. He joined the Vincennes Police Force and served for over 16 years. He continued his career having evolved into Real Estate becoming a Broker and Realtor. He married Janet C. Deem on May 11, 1963 and they made their life together for nearly 59 years. Ron was a member of the F.O.P, Realtors Assn, Moose, Eagles and the Harmony Society.
He is survived by his wife, Janet C. Turney, their son’s, Ronald D. Turney Jr, and his companion Vivian Scott of St. Charles, MO and Steve D. Turney, and his wife Nadine of Vincennes, IN. He is also survived by their grandchildren, Sarah Turney and Laura D. Turney, their great grandchildren, Michael McKee, Rhett Turney McCarter, Cyrus D. Turney and Rhea Richardson. A brother Stephen Foster, and his wife Peggy of Lawrenceville, IL also survives.
At his request, funeral services will be held privately. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to any youth functions in the Vincennes Community or the donor's charity of choice . Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist the Turney family during their time of loss.
