Stephanie K. Selby, 71, of Vincennes, passed away Sunday February 16, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Stephanie was born July 9, 1948 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of Donald and Barbara Tooley Brochin. She was graduate of Wheatland High School and received an AS degree from Vincennes University. She married Charles Selby Jr and they made their life together for over 43 years. She was a member of the Moose, an active BINGO participant and she was an artist painting in oil‘s and water colors. She enjoyed taking care of abandoned animals and sometimes some humans too. Many called her Aunt Steph or Grandma. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend to everyone she met. She worked at various jobs and her last employment was as a drinkologist at the Railroad Inn.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles Selby Jr, children, Tammy Caldwell, and her husband Roy of Lawrenceville, IL, Robert Shane Godwin of Vincennes, IN, Corey Godwin, and his wife Lisa of Owensville, IN. 9 grandchildren, Kaci Dunn, Vern Kidwell, Melody Eaves, Lucas Godwin, Lexy Godwin, Catherine Peters, C.J. Godwin, Miki Feldpausch and Amber Feldpausch, 6 great grandchildren, Caleb, Abbi, Jody, Zachary, Brynlee and Keagan. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Rick Brochin, and his wife Penny of Bruceville IN, Bill Brochin, and his wife Teresa of Bicknell, IN, Elisa Boger, and her fiancé Richard Brames, Shelia Davis of Antigo WI, Vickie Chambers, and her husband Chris of Baraboo, WI, Laura Miller and her husband Wesley of Baraboo, WI., Mark Howard of Stevens Pointe, WI, her stepmother, Rosemary Brochin of Vincennes, IN, her brothers and sisters in law, Sharon Smith and her husband Buddy of Memphis, TN, Brenda Stearns of Vincennes, IN, Micki Stearns, and her husband Rocky of Vincennes, IN, Vickie Hendricks, and her husband Ron of Vincennes, IN, Don Selby, and his wife Annette of Sumner, IL, and Betty Ann Selby of Vincennes, IN.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald Brochin, a sister, Paula Mincey, her mother and father in law, Charles and Betty Selby Sr., brothers in law, Dave Boger, Dick Stearns, Larry Joe Selby and a daughter in law, Margie Wease.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday February 20, 2020 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Charlie McCracken officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery privately. Memorial contributions can be made to her family to assist with the expenses of her last illness. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to serve the Selby during their time of loss.
