Obituary for Steven M. Fleck Steven M. Fleck, 65, of Vincennes, passed away Saturday June 27, 2015 at 3:24 PM at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born on July 3, 1949 in Vincennes the son of John W. and Opal L. Glass Fleck. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Sam�s Technical Institute of Evansville, IN. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1975. He served in the Northwest Cape, Western Australia, the USS New Orleans during the Vietnam War and two of the three Sky Lab recoveries. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 73, a life member of the VFW Post 1157, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 10, 40 et 8 Voiture 107, Eagles Arie 384, Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 62 and the Moose Lodge 779 in Lawrenceville, IL. He is survived by his daughter, Kacey M. Kaufman, and her husband Jeremy of Brooklyn, NY a grandson Eli Samuel Kaufman, and another grandchild expected in October. He is also survived by a sister, Judy Lankford, and her husband Rick of Indianapolis, IN and his former wife, Jane Hyneman Hartzburge of Vincennes. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Linda Majei. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Rev. James Beery officiating. He will be laid to rest in the St. Thomas Cemetery. Gravesite military honors will be given by the All Weather Firing Squad. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to VFW Post 1157 to support the local activities of the club.
