Obituary for Steven R. Litherland Sr.
Steven R. Litherland Sr., 65 of Monroe City, IN, passed away Sunday September 5, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Steve was born August 6, 1956 in Vincennes the son of Duane "Barney" and Mary Ann Chambers Litherland. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Vincennes University. He worked as a self employed carpenter and attended Turning Pointe Church. He was a member of F.O.P., Moose and Vincennes Golf Club. He married Kathleen "Kathy" Flory on May 20, 1988 and they made their life together for over 33 years.
Steve is survived by his wife, Kathy Litherland, their children, Steven R. Litherland Jr of Westfield, IN, Audra Graber, and her husband Adrian of Odon, IN, Maria Litherland, and Doug Wade of Linton, IN and Kooter Litherland, and his wife Samantha of Monroe City, IN. He is survived by his grandchildren, Hayden Wade, Abby Pitcher, Maggie Litherland, Corbin Pitcher, Eli Litherland, Aurora May, Landan Litherland and Isabel Litherland. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Ann Litherland of Vincennes, a brother, Tom Litherland, and his wife Jan of Vincennes, his sisters, Dale Ann Son, and her husband Mark of Vincennes, Jody Cardinal, and her husband Ed of Bruceville, IN and Lisa McGavic, and her husband Virgil of Vincennes, IN.
Steve was preceded in death by a daughter, Bethany Litherland and his father, Duane "Barney" Litherland.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday September 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Lakes officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his daughter Bethany in Hamline Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 9, 2021 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM and prior to the services on Friday. Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist the Litherland family during their time of loss.
