Obituary for Terry Kemp Sills
Terry Kemp Sills, 77, of Vincennes passed away Sunday October 18, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Terry was born October 6, 1943 in Clearwater, FL the son of Paul Sills and Dorothy Caughran. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Vincennes University and Indiana State University. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Bunker Hill General Baptist Church and was a proud member to the Masonic Lodge #1 F&AM and formerly the Oaktown Masonic Lodge. He formerly was Past Master of the lodge and served in every position of the Masonic order. He was awarded the Knights of the York Cross of Honor for his devotion to the Lodge. He held membership in the Hadi Shrine along with serving as secretary.
He is survived by his family, a sister, Gail A. Claycomb of Indianapolis, IN, a niece, Jennifer Lynn Caughran Claycomb of Beech Grove, IN. his closest friends, Larry Latshaw, and his wife Beverly of Vincennes, IN and his caregiver, Mary Ann Gray of Vincennes, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be celebrated Friday October 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Howder officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his mother in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 12:30 PM. Gravesite military honors will be conducted by the All Weather Firing Squad. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Bunker Hill General Baptist Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Sills family during their time of loss.
