Obituary for Velma R. "Crouse" Laidle
Obituary for Velma Ruth Crouse Laidle Velma Ruth Crouse Laidle, 82, of Vincennes, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born April 22, 1932 in Pike county, IN the daughter of Rex H. & Ada White Masters. She was a cook at various restaurants in the area, she formerly worked at Hamilton Glass Co. She married James Laidle and he preceded her in 1986. She was a member of the Baptist faith and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her family, Jeff Crouse of Vincennes, Pete Crouse, and his wife Mary Ann of Pleasant Shade, TN, Deb Brower of Vincennes, Becky Crouse of Vincennes, Fred Crouse, and his wife Dena of Vincennes and Misty Crosby of Vincennes. Her step children, Kenny Laidle of Vincennes, Mike Laidle and Mary Laidle. She was blessed by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers, Jack Masters, and his wife Shelia of Vincennes, Bill Masters of Hazelton, IN and Gordon Masters of Hawthorne, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband James Laidle, her parents, a son, Stan Crouse, 2 brothers Bob Masters and Earl Masters 2 sisters Oleva Hunter and Lavon Hunt. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters in law, Beverly Masters and Rose Masters. A gravesite service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Russell Veldman officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband James Laidle. Memorial contributions can be made to the family to assist with the expenses of her final illness. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is entrusted to help the family with the arrangements.
