Obituary for Walter L "John" Jones
Walter L. "John" Jones, 74 of Bicknell, IN passed away Thursday April 7, 2022 on his birthday. He was born April 7, 1948 in Jasonville, IN the son of Paul and Blanche Perry Jones. He was a graduate of Shakamak High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he married Helen Carpenter and they made their life together for 50 years celebrating the milestone on St. Patrick's Day. He retired from Crane Depot, held memberships in the French Club, Lifetime member of the VFW and enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and anything outdoors.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen Jones, their sons, Johnny Jones of Bicknell and Paul Jones, and his wife Jennifer also of Bicknell, IN. his grandchildren, Cole Jones, Kale Jones, Reagan Jones, Korbin Jones and Cambrie Jones. He is also survived by his sisters, Lorene Pearson of Bloomfield, IN, Corene Acker of Muncie, IN, Anna Mae Robinson of Bicknell, IN and Gloria Duncan of Bicknell, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Richard Jones and Gardner "Bud" Jones, his sisters, Frieda McDaniels, Marge Chapman, Tott Frye, Doe Rodrick and Elizabeth “Flo” Phipps.
Funeral services will be private at his request. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw is honored to assist the Jones family during their time of loss.
