Wilbur H. Boberg, 95, passed away Tuesday September 24, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Wilbur was born April 5, 1929 in Bicknell the son of August and Matilda Spangle Boberg. In his early years, he lived near Edwardsport and in his teens, the family moved to Widner Township to continue farming. On August 24, 1957, he married Reda A. Schaefer and they made their life together on their farm for 67 years. He loved farming and the dairy herd he had for many years. He was also an accomplished welder and in retirement was an active woodworker, having a special talent for scroll saw fretwork. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He attended Bethel Church and Edwardsport Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Reda A. Boberg, a son Randy W. Boberg (Sharon) of Newburgh, IN and a daughter, Brenda A. Small of Bicknell. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Katie Boberg, Jenny (Josh) Anthis, Doug (Susie) Small, Caleb Roche, Frank (Alex) Roche, Madeline (Logan) Young. Ten great grandchildren as well as a niece and two nephews also survive him
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Boberg.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday September 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Brady New officiating. He will be laid to rest in Bethel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday September 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bethel Church Cemetery Fund. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw is honored to assist Wilbur's family during their time of loss.
