Obituary for William E. Cochran

William E. (Bill) Cochran (86), passed away peacefully at his home on June 2, 2024. He was surrounded by family. He was married 67 years to his wife Beverly (Thompson) Cochran. He is also survived by 6 children, Margaret (Cochran) Hedrick (Lee), Judie (Cochran) Hall (Mike), Suzie (Cochran) Hise, Gayle (Cochran) Siewers (Scott), Darrel Cochran (Bonnie), Johnny Franklin (Amanda) and Eva Harris (a great granddaughter of whom they raised) and sisters; Pat (Cochran) Kramer, Karen (Cochran) Anderson. Bill had 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Maurice & Stella (Cat) Cochran, a brother; Dennis Cochran and nephew Jerry Kramer.

Bill was an over-the-road truck driver for more than 63 years and he was proud to say he never had a single accident. It was a job he loved. He worked for PTI (Petroleum Transport), Tussey Trucking and Carrie Brothers. After retiring he worked part-time as a valet at Good Samaritan Hospital (a job he also loved).

Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1955 until 1959.

When not working, Bill enjoyed his family time, to include fishing with his son, sons-in-law, nephews and grandchildren and of course we can’t forget his love of going to the “Club” on Saturday afternoons.
