Obituary for William J. “Sonny” Foreman Sr.
William J. “Sonny” Foreman Sr. 84 passed away Thursday November 29,
2018 at the Golden Living Center in Petersburg, IN with his family at his bedside. Sonny was born November 5, 1934 in Vincennes the son of Roy and Nellie Moore Foreman. He worked as a coalminer for AMAX Coal for over 22 years. He married Marvelyn Brawdy on July 24, 1954 and the made their life together until her death in 2013. He was a member of the United Mine Workers, worked for Littleford Nurseries and was an active tree farmer. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by a daughter, Shelia Osborne Masters, and her husband Jack of Vincennes, a grandson, Herb J. Malott of Vincennes and a great grandson, Landon Malott of Vincennes. A brother, Earl Trig Foreman of Yakima, Washington and his Brother-in-Law, Dwight Brawdy and his wife Jan of Petersburg also survive.
Sonny was preceded in death by his wife, Marvelyn, a son, William “Bill” Foreman Jr, his parents, Roy and Nellie Foreman, 3 brothers, Archie Foreman, John Foreman and Cricket Foreman. He was also preceded in death by a sister in infancy.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday December 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Parman officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife and son in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Monroe City, IN. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Petersburg Hospice in his memory.
