Obituary for William L. Cope Sr. William L. Cope Sr,75, of Bicknell, IN, returned home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening at the residence of his daughter in Greenville, SC. He was born December 10, 1937 in Chicago, IL the son of Steve & Marguerite Shonkwiler Cope. He was a mechanic, machinist and horticulturist. He owned and operated Southlake Apple Acres in Crown Point, IN, the Cope Brothers Machine Shop in Leroy, IN and retired from the Westville Correctional Facility. He was a member of the Good Shepard Baptist Church in Terre Haute, IN. He served his country during the Viet Nam War in the U. S. Air Force. He married Sandra K. Roll and they made their life together until her death on February 2, 2009. He is survived by his children, Lisa Hetrick, and her husband Brian of Rockwell, TX, Julie MacMillan, and her husband Doug of Greenville, SC, William Cope Jr. of Marshall, IL, David Cope, and his wife, Heather of Wheatfield, IN and Steven Cope, and his wife, Kristen of Ragsdale, IN. He was blessed by his 17 grandchildren, Keith Hetrick, Ben Hetrick, Lacey Hetrick, Brandon Hetrick, Andy Hetrick, Jonathan Hetrick, Will Hetrick, Craig MacMillan, Kristen MacMillan, Katelyn MacMillan, Adrianna Cope, Emily Cope, Isabelle Cope, Taylor Cope, Wendy Cope, Steven Cope Jr and Sarah Cope. His brothers, Thomas Cope, and his wife Patricia of Hebron, IN and Lawrence Cope and his wife Cheryl of Leroy, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Roll Cope & his parents. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Saturday June 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel. Pastor Maurice Roll, Pastor Thomas Manbeck and Pastor Olin Strader will officiate. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery until the day of Resurrection. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Friday May 31 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Good Shepherd Baptist Church through the funeral home.
