Obituary for Wilma J. (Combs) Marchino
Wilma Jean (Combs) Marchino, 96, of Villa Hills, KY and formerly of Vincennes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023,
surrounded by her family. Wilma was born on November 4, 1926, to Bernice (Brown) Combs and William Clinton Combs in Vincennes.
Wilma loved to play euchre and Yahtzee. She was an avid reader until her eyesight made reading difficult. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed keeping up with her friends and relatives. Wilma was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by many. She loved her family more than anything else in the world.
Wilma will be dearly missed by her family including daughters Cynthia (Harry) Wickens of Lafayette, IN and Nancy Irons of Villa Hills, KY; brother James Combs of Vincennes; grandchildren Brett (Laura)
Wickens of Wauwatosa, WI, Abby (Christopher) Bean of Fishers Indiana, Grant Irons of Cincinnati, OH, Laura Irons of Villa Hills, KY; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the loving great-grandmother to Caroline Bean, Madeline Wickens, Henry Bean and James Wickens.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leland “Jack” Marchino, sister's Ruth Ann in infancy, Doris Klasinski, and a brother William Combs.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on April 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church in Vincennes with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Jack, in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass St John Catholic Church. Memorial donations are encouraged to St. Vincent De Paul Society in her memory.
