Obituary for Carol Jean Gruber Carol Jean Gruber, 79, of Vincennes, formerly of Bloomington, IN, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Bridgepointe Health Campus. She was born November 11, 1933 in Gibson County, IN, the daughter of Haven & Helen L. Mounts Armstrong. She was a graduate of Owensville High School and Indiana State University. Formerly a resident of Bloomington, IN, she was employed by Indiana University as a Residence Hall Director. She was a member of First Christian Church in Bloomington and she attended St. Paul�s Lutheran Church in Vincennes. She is survived by her children, a daughter, Lynne Rump, and her husband Bill of Vincennes, a son, Gregory Gruber, and his wife Angela of Tallahassee, FL, and a son -in- law, Maurice Thompson of Indianapolis, IN. Surviving grandchildren are Tyler Rump (Whitney), Lindsay Rump, Taylor Thompson Lewis (Brian), Lily Gruber and Carolyn Gruber. Her brother, Joe Armstrong and his wife Betty of Owensville, IN also survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Thompson, and her parents. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul�s Lutheran Church with Pastor Nan Dehnke officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Owensville Cemetery, Owensville, IN. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church. Gravesite services will be held at 2:00 PM EDT at the cemetery in Owensville, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul�s Lutheran Church or Children & Family Services, Vincennes.
