David D. Foote, 74, formerly of Bicknell, IN, passed away Tuesday June 2, 2026 at Sycamore Care Strategies in Loogootee, IN. David was born June 15, 1951 in Vincennes the son of Samuel Foote and Mable Melvin Taylor. He was a 1970 graduate of North Knox High School and worked as a mold maker for Jules Bouillet wood carvings. He married Lynn E. Kotlarsky and they made their life together until her death on June 1, 1998. He held memberships in the NRA, Former Chairman of East Fork Committee, FNRA, Former holder of the Indiana State record for White Tail Deer with a bow, was an author and writer for Hoosier Sportsman, North American White Tail Deer Magazine, Indiana fish an game Magazine, Knox County Daily News and Princeton Clarion. David enjoyed anything to do with hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his sons, Leonard (Leo) W Foote and his wife Mary of Champaign, IL and Dwight D. Foote and his wife Nichole) of Vincennes, IN. He is also survived by a grandson, Erik Foote and his wife Arielle, a great grandson, Miles Foote, his brothers Roy (Erma) Foote of Leesville, LA, Gary (Lauren) Foote of Springfield, IL, his sisters, Mary Ellis of Vincennes, IN, Fleta Donham of Topeka, KS.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lynn Foote, his parents, 3 brothers, Fred Foote, John Foote and Sam Foote his 3 sisters, Ethel Cooper, Mary Roach and Betty Allen.

Gravesite services will be held on Friday June 5, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Asbury Chapel Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his wife Lynn. The family asks for donations be made to any Wildlife Relief Organization in his memory. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the Foote family during their time of loss.
