David L. Lory Sr., 83, of Vincennes, passed away July 14, 2026 at Majestic Health in Sheridan, IN. David was born June 27, 1943 in Kokomo, IN the son of William E. and Edith Bernice Ray Lory. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and worked for the Vincennes School Corporation in the maintaince department. He married Charlene Whaley on May 23, 1964 and they made their life together until her death on January 11, 2025. David was a member of First Christian Church, Eagles Lodge and Moose Lodge. He was an active volunteer at the Indiana Military Museum He was a man who lived his Christian faith in everything he did for so many people.

He is survived by a son, David “DJ” Lory Jr of Vincennes, his brothers, Donnie (Margery) Bilskie and Robert (Lilly) Crock, a sister, Leona Browning several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, his parents, and a brother, Louis “Bud” Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of services. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Indiana Military Museum. Gravesite services will be announced at a later date. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Lory family during their time of loss.
