Obituary for Diana K. Martin
Diana K. Martin, 68, of Edwardsport, IN, passed away Tuesday November 10, 2020 at 12:02 AM at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Diana was born December 3, 1951 in Elnora, IN the daughter of Murel and Velma Long Ferguson. She was a graduate of Cicero Academy and she attended Edwardsport 1st Baptist Church. On November 9, 1973 she married Michael "Mike" Martin and they made their life together for 34 years until his death on October 16, 2008. She joined her husband 2 minutes late for their anniversary, as she always was late for any event. Diana worked at the U.S. Post Office in Edwardsport, she held membership in Tri Kappa and the Home Ec Club in northern Knox County. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Surviving are her children, Christina Morrison of Vincennes, IN and Keith Martin, and his wife Kathy of Edwardsport, IN. Her beloved grandchildren, Lance Detty, Logan Detty, Kyndall Martin, Taylor Hoops, Josh Hoops, Katie Junkin, Michael Junkin, Bridger Morrison, her great grandchildren, Lynleigh Hoops and Paisley Junkin. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Jim Ferguson, and his wife Janice of Elnora, IN, Rick Ferguson, and his wife Nancy of Elnora, IN, Dave Ferguson, and his wife Jana Loogootte, IN, Sharon Schaefer, and her husband Bill of Decatur, TN and Carol Grubb of Stanford, IN. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Diana was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Mike" Martin Sr., a step-son, Michael Martin Jr. and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the 1st Baptist Church in Edwardsport, IN with Pastor John Trotter officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Edwardsport Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the 1st Baptist Church of Edwardsport. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the Martin Family during their time of loss.
