Doris Marie Hedge, 87 of Vincennes passed away Sunday September 10, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Doris was born February 14, 1936 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Delmer and Anna Catterton Groff. She was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in the Food Service Department. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She married William "Andy" Hedge in 1955 and they made their life together for 66 years until his death in 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, doing word searches and collecting Roosters.

Doris is survived by her family, Laura Perry, and her husband Dale of Bruceville, IN, Rose Kendall, and her husband Fred of Lawrenceville, IL, Anna Snider of Decker, IN and Phillip Hedge of Vincennes. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy Conrad, Bryce Buchanan, Brock Buchanan, Gary Charest, Christopher Smith, Katelyn Hedge and Madison Hedge. 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. Two sisters, Joann Deck of Newton, IL and Darlene Hawkins of Lawrenceville, IL also survive.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Hedge, a son, John W. Hedge, a grandson, William Jo Conrad, her parents, Delmer and Anna Groff, brothers, John Groff and Robert Groff and sisters Beulah Doty and Cleo Jones.

Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday September 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Flinn officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's charity of choice.
