F. Kay Marchino, 86, of Vincennes, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Kay was born on December 1, 1939, in Washington, IN to Fred and Mary Evelyn (Dosch) Colvin. Kay graduated from Petersburg High School in 1957 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Evansville in 1961. Kay dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and later shared her knowledge as an Associate Professor of Nursing in the LPN program at Vincennes University. On February 2, 1962, she married Heath Marchino, together they built a loving life for 64 years. Kay was a member of the Knox County Retired Teachers Association and the Vincennes University “Lunch Bunch.” She enjoyed watching Indiana University Men’s Basketball and planting flowers. Above all, her most joy came from being a Mamaw to her five grandsons and their accomplishments.
Kay is survived by her devoted husband, Heath “Huck” Marchino; her children Jeff (Amy Sloan) Marchino and Beth (Tom) Robinson, both of Vincennes; her grandsons, Will (Nikki) Marchino, Luke (Landrey James) Marchino, Cameron (Carly) Robinson, Payton Robinson, and Brennon Robinson; her brother, Dr. Joseph Colvin of Orlando, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Kay will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
The Good Samaritan Nursing Honor Guard will conduct their service at 12:30 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the donors charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Marchino family during their time of loss
