Obituary

Glenda L. Joyce, R.N. 85, formerly of Vincennes, IN, passed away September 8, 2026 in North Port, FL with her family at her bedside. Glenda was born in Vincennes, IN, January 11, 1941 the daughter of Glenn and Lucille Gasser Adams. She was a graduate of Sarasota High School in Florida and continued her education at the Deaconess School of Nursing in Evansville, IN. After graduation, she received her Registered Nursing Degree and began her career in nursing having retired from the Good Samaritan Hospital. She worked as a surgery/recovery nurse for many years. She was a member of Indiana Presbyterian Church, Harmony Society and formerly active Bridge Player. She married Clarence “Sonny” Joyce and they made their life together until his death in 1999.

Glenda is survived by her son, Troy A. (Kimberly) McClure of Port Charlotte, FL, her grandchildren, Hayden (Colin) McClure, Reid McClure and Kayla Wilson. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Colten, Rio, Ayda and Benny.

Glenda was preceded by her husband, Sonny Joyce, daughters, Andrea McClure and Lisa McClure, her parents, Glen and Lucille Adams and a brother in infancy.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Rev. Trevor Murry officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Sonny in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Glenda’s family during their time of loss.
