Obituary for Ida Geraldine Wright Ida Geraldine Wright, 83, of Vincennes, passed away at 10:47 PM Thursday June 22, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside when the Lord called her home. Geraldine was born August 25, 1933 in Dyer County, TN the daughter of Willie Eli and Delia Lawson Fortner. She worked at various jobs from a sales clerk in a jewelry store, school bus route driver, bank teller and her most important job was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and secretary/personal assistant to her husband in his ministry. Geraldine is survived by her husband, Noble E. Wright whom she married on July 29, 1950. Their children, Norman K. Wright, and his wife Pamela of Moberly, MO, Vivian C. Gamblian, and her husband Stan of Allen, TX, Roger V. Wright, and his wife, Mary of Vincennes, IN, Betsye K. Harris of Paragould, AK and Rachel E. Craighton, and her husband Gordon of Shiloh, GA. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Curtis Fortner, Willie P. Fortner, R.V. Fortner, Ezra Fortner, Tommie Gene Fortner, 4 sisters, Delia Fortner, Laverne Fortner, Berta Ruth (Sis) Reagor and Mattie Sue Leslie. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday June 24, 2017 at 3:30 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Scott Wiley officiating. Geraldine will be laid to rest in the Rehoboth Cemetery in Newbern, TN on Monday at 11:00 AM EDT/ 10:00 AM CDT. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Central Church of Christ, Vincennes, IN.
