Jackie "Jack" Shots, 86, formerly of Vincennes, passed away Monday October 28, 2024 in Columbus, IN surrounded by his family. Jack was born April 30, 1938 in Vincennes the son of Walter L. and Marjorie E. Alton Shots. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and continued his education at Vincennes University where he received an AS degree in business. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 and he began his working career as a bookkeeper for Dick Leonard Ford, Golden Rule Insurance and was the manager of Circle A quick stop. He held membership in St. Francis Xavier/Sacred Heart Catholic Church, was raised in the St. John Catholic Church. He was active in Cub League Baseball serving as a coach for Hudson Furniture Team for 19 years. He enjoyed hunting and shooting the bull with his friends and joking with everyone he met. He married Nancy Berry on June 3, 1961 and they made their life together for over 63 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy Shots, their children, Keith Shots, of Seymour, IN, John Shots of Squires, MO, Larry (Sharon) Shots of Vincennes, IN, Sherri (Joe) Houchins of Greenwood, IN and Gary ( Paula) Shots of Evansville, IN. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter L. Shots II.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday November 2, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Fr. Garrett Braun officiating He will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Gravesite military honors will be presented by the All Weather Firing Squad. The family will receive friends on Friday November 1, 2024 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
