Obituary for James J. Althoff James J. Althoff, 83, of Bruceville, IN, passed away February 13, 2018 at 8:22 AM at the Oak Village Nursing Center. Jim was born December 18, 1934 in Knox County the son of Henry and Pauline Bluebaum Althoff. He was a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School and was a lifelong farmer. He served this country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. Jim was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, a member of the American Legion, 40 et 8 and a lifetime member of the Bruceville Rod & Gun Club. He married Martha Vantlin on April 16,1959 and they made their life together for 58 years. He drove a school bus for the Vincennes School Corp for over 20 years. He is survived by his children, James J. Althoff Jr. of Bruceville, IN, Morris H. Althoff of Bruceville, IN, Sandra K. Bloodworth, and her husband James of Evansville, IN, and Gregory L. Althoff of Bruceville, IN. His grandchildren, Teaira Bloodworth, Steven Bloodworth, Amy Althoff, Cheyennena Althoff and Gregory Althoff Jr.. His brother, Richard Althoff of Peoria, AZ also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Althoff on November 5, 2017, his parents, Henry and Pauline Althoff, his brothers, Raymond Althoff, Sylvester Althoff, Arnold Althoff, Leon Althoff, Earl Althoff, Lawrence Althoff, Henry Althoff Jr., Norman Althoff and a sister, Marcella Steffey. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday February 17, 2018 at 12:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Ron Maxwell officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Martha in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM Saturday till the time of service at 12:00 PM. at St. John Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church in his memory.
