James E. Bouvy, 87, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Wednesday May 20, 2026 at his home. He was born November 13, 1938 in Vincennes the son of J. Earl and Cecilia Carie Bouvy. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and entered the U.S. Air Force. He served his country during the Vietnam War and he retired as a Master Sgt. He was a member of the Old Cathedral, VFW, Legion and the Moose. He owned and operated the Boo-V Woodcraft having retired in 2003.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Debbie J. Waterman of Ft. Worth, TX, Brenda K. (Carl) of Sebree, KY Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by a special dear friend and neighbor, Lou Bean.

Jim was preceded in death by his son, David Bouvy, a daughter, Cathy Thomas, his parents J. Earl and Cecilia Bouvy and a sister, Shirley Kitchell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating at St Francis Xavier (Old Cathedral) Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest next to his companion, Mary Thompson in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Military Gravesite honors will be performed by Scott Air Force Base. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Donor’s Military Charity of Choice.
