Obituary for James O. �J.O.� Reel James O. �J.O.� Reel, 70, of Vincennes passed away Thursday March 5, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. He was born October 20, 1944 the son of Dwight and Mildred C. Evans Reel. He was a graduate of LHS and worked for over 45 years at Wilson Cadillac Pontiac dealership. He currently worked for Trent Motors and Newberry Motors as an auto auction buyer and transport. He attended Wheatland Wesleyan Church, he held memberships in the Eagles, Moose, Sons of the American Legion and The Men�s Auxiliary of the VFW. He was a bargain hunter, enjoying any auction or sale at dinky�s. He was an avid car enthusiast, having knowledge of just about every car on the road. He married Sharon VanMatre and they made their life together until her death in 2001. He is survived by their son, Darrold Reel of Vincennes, his grandchildren, Bailey M. Reel, Brianna Reel, Tasha Taylor and Ian Akers. His sister, Jill Strahley, and her husband Troy of Vincennes also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, a son, Kevin Reel, his parents, Dwight M. and Mildred Reel, and a brother, Larry Reel. Funeral services will be celebrated Monday March 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Mitchell officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Hamline Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the GSH Cancer Center in memory of his wife and him.
