Janet K. Alton of Vincennes, 76, passed away on March 23, 2025 at Gentle Care Nursing home. She was born on April 9, 1948 the daughter of Chester and Betty Fields Cummings. Janet worked as a security guard and was a Christian and lived her faith in her everyday life, she also enjoyed taking care of her beloved dog. Susie Lou.

Janet is survived by her children Betty (Paul) Rossi of Vincennes, Terrie Gavin of Vincennes, Tommy (Shay) Lewis of Vincennes, Jerry Lee Lewis of Vincennes, James (Wanda) Alton Jr. of Plant City, FL, Clint Alton of Marion, IL, Gary Alton of Pittsburg, IL, Dawn Marks of Pittsburg, IL and Greg (Patsy) Alton of Zeigler, IL. Brothers and sisters, Wayne (Marcie) Cummings and Jackie Ray Cummings, Shelia Fields, Linda Smith all of Vincennes and Nancy McClure Ellis of Evansville, IN, 39 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clinton Alton Sr., her parents, Chester and Betty Fields Cummings, 2 Son's, Charles and Shawn Alton, 2 Brothers, Bob Cummings and Richard Cummings.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until the time of services. Memorial donations can be made to the donor's charity of choice in her memory.
