Obituary for Janie M. Wood Janie M. Wood, 76, of Emison, IN, passed away November 10, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Janie was born July 26, 1944 in Decker Chapel the daughter of James and Pauline Doades Anthis. She was a graduate of Decker Chapel and on September 12, 1962 she married Daniel L. Wood and they made their life together for 58 years. She was a housekeeper and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Janie is survived by her husband, Daniel L. Wood, their children, Joyce Ramirez, and her companion Jim Knox of Washington, IN, Daniel L Wood, and his wife Cindy of Vincennes, IN, and Kevin D. Wood, and his wife Marla of Bridgeport, IL. Their grandchildren, Dustin Evans, Terri Jimenez, Daniel Bennett, Kyle Bennett, Maria DeLong, Tiffany Wagler, Nathan Wood and 20 great grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters, Marvin Anthis, and his wife Martha of St. Francisville, IL, David Anthis of Vincennes, IN, Ronnie Anthis of Vincennes, IN, Rosie Shore of Vincennes, IN and Rebecca Eufracio, and her husband Catlino of Vincennes, IN also survive. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Kenny Anthis, Randall Anthis and her sister, Rachael Fowler. Funeral services will be celebrated Monday November 16, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Brent Cramer officiating. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to her family to assist with expenses of her last illness.
