Jerry W. Weber, 74, of Vincennes passed away at his home Friday August 11, 2023 with his family at his bedside. Jerry was born December 15, 1948 in Vincennes the son of Charles L. and Dorothy Mills Weber. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam war having attained the rank of sergeant. After his service, he worked as a nuclear medicine tech at Good Samaritan Hospital. He left Good Samaritan and worked as a nuclear medicine tech at the Daviess County Hospital helping the hospital improve their department and expanded the department to include ultrasound technology. He married Rebecca Lee Luttrull on December 27. 1969 and they made their life together for nearly 54 years. He formerly was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Vincennes and coached baseball for over 20 years in Monroe City and various travel teams. He coached both of his son's and his grandson through the various stages of baseball and after that he continued to coach in the leagues. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Weber, their children, Amy Chestnut (Lee Killian) of Evansville, IN, Andrew Weber of Bicknell, IN and Gabriel Weber of Monroe City, IN. He is also survived by his grandchildren Blake Montgomery, Jordan Montgomery (Abby Jones), Haegan Weber, Logan Weber, Riley Weber and Sophia Weber. Great grandchildren, Addy Montgomery, Colt Montgomery and Remington Montgomery. His nephews, Butch Weber, Tony Weber and James Weber.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Weber.
Funeral services will be celebrated Tuesday August 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Barnett officiating at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Gravesite Honors presented by the All Weather Firing Squad. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to any league baseball organization.
