Joan C. (Blome) Frey, 78, of Vincennes, passed away Thursday October 8, 2026 at Gentle Care Health with her family at her bedside. Joan was born October 2, 1948 in Vincennes the daughter of Joseph and Louise Dowden Blome. After she graduated high school, she began her college career at Indiana State University in education. She worked at Vincennes Community School Corp. for over 30 years; she was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Parish and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Frey, children, Amy (Dan) Field and Kolby Frey (Maria Earley), her grandchildren, Cody Daffron, Zayden Field, Landon Robins, Kenadee Frey and Elexus Frey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Thais, her parents, Joseph and Louise Blome, 4 brothers, James Blome, Paul Blome, Robert Blome and John Blome.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on October 16, 2026 at 1:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery following the Memorial Mass. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church.
